Allan started his apprenticeship in Avondale in 1976 and completed it in 1981
from there Allan Wakeling Panelbeaters & Spraypainters was established in West Auckland also in 1981 which is owned and operated by Allan & Jennifer
Their three sons, Mark, Adam and Jamie, add to the running of the family business

Well known in the automotive trade for over 30 years, Allan is also known for his motor racing career which started out in off roading and followed up by 25 years of racing sprintcars both overseas and thru out many New Zealand speedway tracks, his favorite being Christchurch

Allan has won the New Zealand sprintcar champs a total of 8 times, along with several Auckland and North Island champs and has been awarded sports person of the year for Speedway New Zealand

Apart from motor racing, Allan enjoys his fishing and along with Jennifer, they enjoy classic cars and getting time away in their motor home
